HEBREW ALPHABET

Learn the Letters of the Hebrew Alphabet

The Hebrew alphabet is often referred to as the Hebrew Aleph-Beit (or Alef-Bet) based upon the names of the first two letters. There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet. Five of the letters contain final forms (i.e., when they appear at the end of a word) that are different from their normal forms (i.e., when they appear at the beginning or in the middle of a word). So, while there are just 22 letters, there is a total of 27 forms.
